When they have an event, you know to get there by using the Green Line if you're go to Fenway. How do you deal with that now and what does it look like a year from now?ĭeMaria: You think about the Boston Garden, Fenway Park and Foxboro Stadium. I'm assuming that's going to be part of life for a little while. We got jammed up getting over here on the bridge. Joe Mathieu: A lot of people are talking about traffic and I know you have a lot to say about that. I'm hoping a lot of them walk to work if they can I'll just take the shuttle down. Now this job here with good benefits and being all union employees working inside the facility, hopefully they don't have to work as many hours. Mayor Carlo DeMaria: A lot of our residents struggle to work two or three jobs.

WGBH Morning Edition Host Joe Mathieu spoke with Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria about traffic and the opportunities the casino presents for the Greater Boston area. From the sounds of it, they are giving some discounts off the rack rate if you give some action in the pit.The Encore Boston Harbor Casino in Everett is finally open, and people are still concerned about how the new casino will affect traffic in and around the city. But I really, really, REALLY want to stay there. My trip isn't for another month so I am going to be diligent on looking at other options too. Just the same moves with the same cards really bores me. Blackjack bores me to tears but I've always done decent at it. If I'm running bad, I like to push a button, go to my room, have a nice bath, watch a good movie then go back down with a refreshed mindset to take back what is mine. I tend to play way too long sessions, chasing a loss, when I have to go stay off-site. I always try to stay where I play, whenever possible. Last time I checked, Encore Las Vegas had a significantly reduced “poker rate” which required an average of 6 hours play per day. I will add my own suggestion: Just about every hotel in Vegas has a poker rate for rooms with the requirement that you play x amount of hours per day. I like Psychlady’s suggestion of contacting a host. More unsolicited advice: Stay where you play.
